Terms of Use
Effective October 4, 2026
The short version
- Yummie is a food diary with a creature companion. Nutrition numbers are AI estimates, not medical advice.
- Your photos and notes stay yours. You let us store and process them so the app can work.
- Be kind, upload only what you have the right to share, and don’t try to break or misuse the Service.
- Yummie is new and still changing, so it is provided “as is”.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Yummie LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“Yummie”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Yummie mobile app and the yummie.app website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Yummie.
2. Early access
Yummie is in early development. Some features may be incomplete, change, or be removed. During a test or beta period things may break, and we may ask for your feedback. We work to keep your data safe, but please don’t rely on Yummie as the only record of anything important to you.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- An account is for one person and can’t be transferred.
- Tell us at privacy@yummie.app if you think someone else has accessed your account.
4. Not medical advice
Yummie uses artificial intelligence to estimate dish names, ingredients, portion weights, calories, nutrients, plate balance, flavors and cuisines from your photos. These are estimates, not measurements, and they can be wrong. Energy goals, balance scores, suggestions and your buddy’s reactions are for general information and fun only.
Yummie isn’t a medical device and doesn’t provide medical, nutritional or dietary advice, diagnosis or treatment. Don’t use it to manage a medical condition, allergy or eating disorder. Talk to a qualified professional before making changes to your diet. If you are struggling with your relationship with food, please reach out to a health professional or a local support line.
5. Your content
“Your content” means the photos, dish names, ratings, notes, tags, places and other material you add to Yummie. You keep ownership of it.
You give Yummie a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, analyze (including through our AI providers), adapt and display your content, but only to operate, maintain and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except:
- places you add to the shared place directory (name, category, address, map location) may remain in it and be shown to other users, without any link to you;
- we may keep copies for as long as the law requires.
You confirm that you have the right to share your content, and that it doesn’t break the law or anyone else’s rights. Don’t upload photos of other people without their permission.
6. Acceptable use
When using Yummie, you agree not to:
- upload anything illegal, harmful, hateful, sexually explicit or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- add fake, misleading or spam places, or impersonate anyone;
- access the Service by automated means (scraping, bots) or overload it;
- try to get around security, access other people’s accounts, or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
- use the Service to build a competing product or to train AI models;
- use the Service in any way that breaks the law.
7. Places and third-party information
Restaurant and place information in Yummie comes from public datasets, other users, and restaurants’ own websites. It may be incomplete or out of date, and we don’t endorse any place. If you own a business and want something about it corrected or removed, write to us.
Place data from Overture Maps Foundation. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, © OpenMapTiles, served by OpenFreeMap.
8. Our rights
The Service, including the app, the Yummie name and logo, your buddy and its artwork and animations, and our software and design, belongs to Yummie LLC and its licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
9. Changes, suspension and ending
We may change these Terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Yummie after that, you accept the new Terms.
You can stop using Yummie and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if the law requires it. We may also change or stop the Service, and will try to give you reasonable notice and a way to get a copy of your data first.
10. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that AI estimates will be accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Yummie LLC and its members, employees and suppliers won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of US $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an eligible claim in small-claims court.
If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country whose laws give you mandatory protections, you keep those protections, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
Please contact us first. Most issues can be solved with an email.
13. App stores
If you downloaded Yummie from the Apple App Store or Google Play:
- these Terms are between you and Yummie LLC only, not Apple or Google, and Yummie (not Apple or Google) is responsible for the app and its content;
- Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
- if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app;
- Apple isn’t responsible for any claims by you or third parties about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property infringement claims;
- you confirm you aren’t located in a country subject to a US government embargo and aren’t on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Your use of the app must also follow the app store’s own terms.
14. General
These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a right, we haven’t waived it. You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.
